Planet Pool - the 6-step water treatment system

Step 1
pH-Adjustment

A very important aspect of swimming pool maintenance is the water‘s pH-value. It affects everything about the water. The first step is always to check the pH-value (tester)! The ideal level is between 7.0-7.4. If the
pH-value is too high it can cause skin and eye irritation and can render other maintenance ineffective. If the pH-value is too low it can cause the fittings to corrode.

Step 2
Disinfection

The water in your pool should be an oasis of well-being and health, which means clear and hygienic. Small particles of dirt, germs and bacteria are constantly carried into it by the environment, whereby the latter multiply considerably in water above 20°C. In order to prevent this we use so-called oxidants in different forms.
Oxidants include products based on chlorine, peroxydes, and bromine.

Step 3
Algae Control

Algae are micro-organisms that serve as a culture medium for bacteria. In order to ensure a clean hygienic water quality it is essential to keep the pool water free of algae. Chlorine, bromine or peroxydes alone cannot guarantee that in all cases, especially outdoors.

Step 4
Flocculation

Some particles of dirt are so small that they are not caught by the sandfilter (colloids). To get rid of them we use flocculants. These increase the effectiveness of the filter. Even the smallest impurities stick to the flocs or are taken up by them. The result is crystal clear water.

Step 6
Fragrances

For that special bathing experience we recommend Aquascent Fragrance for water in four different fragrances:

Metal and lime stabiliser
Ideal if you use ground and spring water! Prevents lime and iron deposits and break down existing deposits. The metal and lime stabiliser protects pipes and heat exchangers from corrosion damage. Filters and pumps are protected aigainst limescale.

TIP

You need flocculants if your pool water is cloudy. These join the smallest dirt particles
together so the larger particles can be caught by your sand filter.
But what if you have a cartridge filter?

Then one of these Venturi vacuums will help:

AR 1011 Venturi vacuum kit
Y15 Venturi vacuum

Instead of the usual nylon bag an additional hose is connected to the Venturi vacuum which pumps the dirt directly out of the pool. Why do you need it? - Despite the flocculants the dirt particles are still too fine and would otherwise just pass through the sack and back into the pool.
